I have worked at companies with good leadership and poor leadership. Generally you don’t appreciate the good leadership until you have been in a situation with poor leadership. I think the same is true of the environment. There is currently a push to take short cuts with the environment to expedite the recovery of the economy. I understand and agree that we need to make pragmatic choices balancing the two concerns. However, 50 years from now would we rather tell our grandchildren that we were able to increase GDP growth by 1% per year or that they can safely swim in the river?
