This weekend on “Meet the Press” former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Join Chiefs Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama. Mr Powell has served at the highest levels in each of the past three Republican president’s administrations and is widely respected by both parties and around the world. A recognized Republican stalwart such as Powell pulling for Obama is incredibly telling as to broad appeal that Obama has.
I was unable to embed the video in my site, so here is a link to Powell endorsing Obama. He is incredibly eloquent giving his reasons for supporting Obama and not McCain. Particularity when he addresses his displeasure with the Republican parties insistence that Obama might be a Muslim and that being a Muslim is a bad thing. I’m sure that some people will argue Powell is supporting Obama simply because he is black. Which is probably true because black people are a homogeneous people who all listen to Jay Z, eat fried chicken and vote for each other.
Well, that reasoning is why Palin got the VP nod, right? All black people vote for each other and all women vote for women.
Hm, so I guess in my case Hyperboles I would need a black woman to vote for then…
that was me…damn phone…
I’m so glad to see someone talking about this without say “Colin Powell putting race before country”.
tj, I think that means you get to vote twice.
I have to put a quote up by Steven Colbert who also talked about the only reason Barack Obama got the endorsement is because Colin Powell is black:
Oh damn you spam filter for picking off my link… However there is now a link to it directly from an article on this site so I can rest in peace. Remember… vote early, vote often!
